Samuel Linton Tolbert

1947-2020

Sam was a lifelong native of Habersham County.  He was the son of the late Boyd and Farris Garrison Tolbert, Sr.  He was a United States Army Veteran and a graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service.  Sam and his wife Martha founded Hillside Memorial Chapel in 1977 and alongside his son Brent, founded Hillside Gardens Perpetual Care Cemetery.  Sam served two terms as a Clarkesville City Councilmen and served as Mayor for 21 years.  Sam and his wife Martha are the parents of Michelle Tolbert Barron and Brent Tolbert and loving grandparents to Grant Casey Barron, Samuel Brent Tolbert, II and Linton Garrison Tolbert.

Brent is a lifelong Habersham County native and has worked alongside his father Sam in the funeral home since the age of 7.  He is a 1996 Graduate of Habersham Central High School, a United States Army Veteran, and a 2003 graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service.  In addition to being a licensed funeral director and embalmer, Brent is a licensed insurance agent, is President of Hillside Gardens Perpetual Care Cemetery and is also the owner of Hillside Monument Company.  Brent enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, hunting, camping, fishing, playing golf and riding motorcycles.  Brent and his wife the former Stephanie Kidd, and their sons Samuel and Linton are members of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Clarkesville.

Kasey C. McEntire

Managing Partner/Funeral Director

Kasey is a lifelong Habersham County native and the son of Rev. Kenneth and Kay McEntire.  Kasey and his wife, the former Natasha House, have 3 children; Payton, Paisley Kayte and Keaton.  They are members of Line Baptist Church where Kasey also serves as deacon and pianist.  Kasey has been an active part of our beloved community and has served in funeral service since 1999.  He is a 2001 honor graduate of Habersham Central High School and a 2003 graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in Decatur.

Samuel is the son of Brent and Stephanie Tolbert and the grandson of Sam and Martha Tolbert.  He is a student at South Habersham Middle School and enjoys swimming, golf, hunting and fishing.

James is a Habersham County native and the son of the Rev. Connie and JoAnn Berry.  He is a 1997 graduate of Habersham Central High School and co-owner of Berry’s Body Shop in Demorest.  He is a member of Stonepile Baptist Church and has been a part of the Hillside family since 2009.  


Jerry Thomason

Jerry is a lifelong native of Habersham County.  Jerry and his wife Teresa Lovell Thomason are members of Hills Crossing Baptist Church where Jerry also serves as a deacon.  Jerry is retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation and has been a part of the Hillside family for over 35 years.

Linton is the son of Brent and Stephanie Tolbert and the grandson of Sam and Martha Tolbert.  Linton is in 3rd grade at Rabun Gap Nacoochee School.  He enjoys playing golf as well as hunting and fishing with his dad and brother.
