After Care

This eloquent quotation by Helen Keller touches on the natural grieving process that all of us must endure at some point in our lives. "It is a high compliment indeed to any relationship to feel emotional and to shed a tear for "the best and most beautiful thing" that has suddenly left our life— our loved one". Grieving is a natural response to a significant loss. In reality, when someone we love dies, grief often comes first in crushing disbelief, later in poignant memories. The weeks and months ahead soften the sharp edges and the loss becomes more bearable, but it remains a loss nonetheless.

The directors at Hillside Memorial Chapel understand the loss that you feel. We are ready to help with emotional support and professional counseling. We understand fully that grief involves varying degrees of suffering. We can help you understand death as a natural outcome and suggest ways to deal with your stage of grieving.
