Alvin "Craig" Park Obituary

Alvin “CRAIG” Park, 78, of Cleveland, GA, peacefully left this world to join our Lord in Paradise on March 27, 2021 with the help of the angels at Hospice of NGMC in Gainesville Ga.

Craig was born in Atlantic City, NJ on May 28,1942 to parents, Alvin Park and Gladys Murray.  Shortly after moving to FL in 1960, he joined the Navy where he proudly served in Puerto Rico and then around the world on the USS Enterprise until1965.  Craig went on to serve in the Lighthouse Point Florida Fire Department for 26 years as a firefighter and an EMT as well before retiring to Cleveland, GA in 1999.  After retirement, he became the assistant manager of the Helen Chamber of Commerce Festhalle where he loved serving for the next 15 years.

Craig was loved by all who knew him. He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it and always with a smile and a loving heart. He will be sorely missed.

Craig is survived, by his wife of 27 years, Patty Park, his sons Craig Park (Sue), John Park and daughter, Bridget Park Patterson, grandchildren, Britney Park, RJ Patterson and his children’s mother, Barbara Park Nichols.

He is predeceased in death by his parents, sister, Sally Park MacKenzie and brother, Kenneth Park.

A Memorial / Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date due to the risk of endangering people's health due to the pandemic.

In Lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center, 2150 Limestone Parkway, Gainesville, GA, 30501,  or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, are appreciated.
