Memorial services for Bobby Joe Parks, Sr., age 69, of Mt. Airy will be held at 3:00 PM, Friday, September 28, 2018 at Hillside Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mike Thomas officiating.
Mr. Parks passed away Monday, September 24, 2018.
Born in Ben Hill County on January 31, 1949, Mr. Parks was the son of the late A B. Parks and Doris Wade Parks-Gordon. Mr. Parks was a United States Army Veteran having served in Vietnam. He was an electrician by trade and spent many years in management working in the production and manufacturing. Mr. Parks attended The Torch. In addition to his parents, Mr. Parks is preceded in death by brother Junior Parks.
Survivors include his wife Virginia Cole Parks of Mt. Airy, daughter Teresa Parks Lumsden (Gary) of Mt. Airy, son Bobby Joe Parks, Jr. (Kaitlynn) of Monticello, brothers James Parks (Ethel) of Lighthouse Point, Florida and W. L. Parks (Brenda) of Eastman, sister Sharon Parks Hallford (Johnny) of Cordele, and grandchildren Rachel Haley Parks, Matthew Christopher Lumsden, Hunter Kyle Parks, Dillon Taylor Lumsden, Samuel Blake Lumsden, Zoey Katherine Parks and Chloe Addison Parks.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday prior to the memorial service from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM.
