Ellen Hamilton Elsen

Ellen Hamilton Elsen, age 85 of Mt. Airy, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 1, 2019.

Born in Habersham County on March 21, 1934, Mrs. Elsen is the daughter of the late Fred and Susie Martin Hamilton.  Mrs. Elsen was retired from Daylight Donuts and she was a member of Stonepile Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband Don Elsen of Mt. Airy, daughter Laura Halferty of St. Petersburg, Florida, sons Victor Orr of Mt. Airy, Daniel Orr (Beverly) of Mt. Airy, Todd Hamilton of Clarkesville and Dave Langston of Clayton, brother Terrell Hamilton, sisters Dorothy Tart, Tex Burns, Tess Franklin and Helen “Birdie” May, as well as seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, September 2, 2019 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.  Mrs. Elsen will be laid to rest on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Old Timpson Cove Cemetery with Pastor Connie Berry officiating.
