Kathleen Jean Francey Peek

Kathleen Jean Peek, age 73 of Clarkesville, Ga passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021.  

Kathy was born on November 19, 1947  in Schenectady, New York to John and Marie (Splann) Francey.  Kathy lived the majority of her life between Florida and Northeast Georgia, never regretting leaving the ice and snow of New York.  

Kathy lived her entire adult life happy, joyous and free. She was involved with and gave service to a community of people whose fellowship became essential to her very being. She will be remembered by those who knew her by her smile, her laugh, and the wisdom she imparted on every one she met.  When Kathy wasn't busy helping others she was known to enjoy a good book or movie, painting, and kayaking, She loved her children and grandchildren and she loved travelling with her husband John to beaches, historic sites and state parks.  

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents John and Marie Francey, her brother David L. Francey and her grandson Kyle Poteat.

Kathy is survived by her husband of 32 years, John R. Peek of Clarkesville, Ga; her daughters and sons- in- law Shannon Arnold of Cherokee, NC; Katina and Jason Poteat of Jacksonville, NC; Dianne and Tom Vanvalkenburgh of Lynchburg, Va; Susanne and George Fry of Clarkesville, Ga; her sister and brother-in-law Susan and Stewart Clark of Homosassa, Fl; her grandchildren Mark, Stephanie, Adeline, Alanna, Jacey, Ethan, Wyatt, Vivian, and Autumn and her great-grandchildren Lily and Zachary as well as many other relatives and life long friends.

The family will hold a private inurnment at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida at a later time.
