Katie Richins Obituary

Katie Danielle Richins, age 19 of Cornelia, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 23, 2019 following injuries she sustained in an automobile accident.

Born in Demorest, Georgia on August 21, 2000, Katie was a life-long native of Habersham County. She was generous, compassionate, and kind. Never malice or angry. Katie would meet people and instantly make new friends, regardless if you thought you needed a friend. She was a hard worker and responsible. If someone was sick, she would instinctively become the caretaker. Katie loved music, concerts, people, and especially dogs. She was a huge fan of Harry Potter and gravitated to a world where the impossible was possible. Katie loved to give hugs since she was a little girl and there was never a limit on how many given. She worked with Wendy’s in Clarkesville and was currently employed with Fred’s Discount Store and Lowe’s Home Improvement Store of Cornelia.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Dale Harris, and maternal great-grandfather, Sherman Patrum.

Survivors include her mother, Jennifer Harris of Cornelia, GA; father, Troy Richins of Roosevelt, UT; father, Brannon Kimbrell of Clarkesville, GA; sister, Carlie Harris of Cornelia, GA; maternal grandparents, Martha & Hardy Stuckey of Cornelia, GA; paternal grandparents, Diane Richins, Ken & Ruby Richins all of Roosevelt, UT; Carol & Ralph Kimbrell of Cornelia, GA; maternal great-grandmother, Anna Patrum of Cornelia, GA; boyfriend, Noah Bourne of Toccoa, GA; several aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 28, 2019 from the Hillside Memorial Chapel with Duane Richins, Jonathan Harris, & Bishop Clay Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Brandon Patrum, Kyle Patrum, Nick Cinquemani, Jeremy Cooper, Timothy Cooper, Matthew Parks, Chance Pritchett & Josh Harris.
