Russell M. Loggins

Hillside Memorial Chapel announces the death of Russell “Russ” Martin Loggins, age 65 of Clarkesville.  He passed away Saturday, July 21, 2018 at his home.  

Russell was born on March 12, 1953 in Demorest.  He was a son of the late Carl and Hortense Loggins.  He graduated from Habersham Central High School and retired in 2015 from Habersham Hardware after 39 years of loyal service.  Russell was a wonderful Christian husband that was devoted to his wife Karen Sue, family and friends.  He touched so many lives with his kindness and will be missed by us all.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 22 ½ years Karen Sue McCullough Loggins of Clarkesville; daughter Amy Loggins Palmer of Anderson, South Carolina; son Andrew Loggins of Porterdale; two grandchildren Susannah and Asher Loggins; two brothers David Loggins and Johnny Loggins both of Demorest; two sisters Jeanette Smith of Cleveland and Carlita Reid of Demorest.

He was preceded in death by a son James Loggins; parents Carl and Hortense Loggins; and granddaughter Eliana Loggins.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 23, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Hillside Memorial Chapel with Mr. Mac McCullough, Mr. Bill Oliver, and Pastor Billy Joe Jenkins officiating.  Interment will follow the service at Hillside Gardens Cemetery.  The family will receive friends prior to the service Monday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.  

In lieu of flowers, Russell’s wife Karen Sue is asking for donations to be given toward funeral expenses.  Donations can be made at any United Community Bank branch to the “Russell Loggins Burial Fund”.  Karen Sue thanks everyone for their donations.
