Ardis Jane (Dodgson) Thompson

Ardis Jane Dodgson Thompson, age 93 of Clarkesville, Georgia and Highlands, North Carolina, passed away October 12, 2020.

Born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on December 7, 1926, Mrs. Thompson was the daughter of the late Alvin J. and Edna Waugh Thompson.  Mrs. Thompson earned her Bachelor Degree from Western Michigan University and she was a homemaker.  Mrs. Thompson was an avid painter and she loved to write poetry.  She and her husband enjoyed traveling and had been across the Atlantic Ocean 26 times.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Thompson is preceded in death by her husband Bruce Thompson, brother Lewis Dodgson and nephew Daniel Thompson.

Survivors include nephews David Thompson (Tracy) of Clarkesville and Matthew Thompson (Joan) of Mesa, Arizona, nieces Jackie Thompson of Portage, Michigan and Karen Lockheart of Plainfield, Illinois, sister in law Sally Dodgson of Richland, Michigan, as well as numerous great nieces and great nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, October 19, 2020 at Highlands City Cemetery, Highlands, North Carolina with Rev. Chip Cranford, officiating.
