Barry Mullinax

Barry Melvin Mullinax, age 64 of Clarkesville, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 31, 2020 following an extended illness.

Born in Demorest, Georgia on January 26, 1956, he was a son of the late Guy Howard & Emma Jane Forrester Mullinax. Barry was a 1975 graduate of Habersham Central High School. He worked for many years as a cook with Adams Rib Restaurant in Clarkesville before finishing his career as Assistant Manager with Zaxby’s Restaurant. Barry enjoyed working on the family farm but most of all loved spending time with his family, especially his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Charlene Tyler Mullinax of Clarkesville, GA; daughter & son-in-law, Laura & Chad Simmemon of Alto, GA; special nephew & spouse, Gator & Allison Mullinax of Alto, GA; special niece & spouse, Jeannie & Will Dodd of Clarkesville, GA; sister, Teresa Mullinax of Clarkesville, GA; brothers & sisters-in-law, J.G. & Bonnie Mullinax of Mt. Airy, GA; Earnest & Jo Mullinax of Alto, GA; Larry Mullinax of Clarkesville, GA; grandchildren, Dedra Simmemon; Shelby Simmemon; Chloe Simmons; Sabrina Dodd, Dallas Dodd, & Emi Dodd; great-grandchildren, Mason Wilson; Kinsley Simmemon; & Constance Scott.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 05, 2020 at Hillside Memorial Chapel with Rev. Denver Kimbrell & Rev. Danny O’Kelly officiating. Interment will follow in the Friendly Mission Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Devin O’Kelly officiating at the graveside.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. until  8:00 p.m.
