Bertha Jean Rebello Pontes

Bertha Jean Rebello Pontes, age 77 of Cornelia, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2020.

Born in Swansea, Massachusetts on December 01, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Manuel L. & Alexandria Simos Rebello. Bertha worked in maintenance for Truett McConnell College and retired with 18 years of service. In her spare time, she was an avid reader. Bertha was a very dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, & pet mom. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, David Rebello, Manuel E. Rebello, & William Rebello.

Survivors include her children, Brian Pontes of Kentucky; William & Rachelle Pontes of St. Petersburg, FL; Cheryl & James LeQuire of Cornelia, GA; Joe & Betty Pontes of Cleveland, GA; brother, James Rebello of Cape Cod, MA; sister, Veronica Soares Somerset, MA; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, & friends.

In consideration of public health & safety, a private family graveside service is scheduled for Monday, June 01, 2020 at Hillside Gardens Cemetery.
