Betty Ruth Hiles Gragg, age 91 of Clarkesville, passed away September 6, 2024.
Mrs. Gragg was born in Duck Run, Lucasville, Ohio on August 23, 1933. She was the daughter of James and Ethel Mae Noel Hiles. She was raised in a Roy Rogers home and was a beloved mother and friend. Mrs. Gragg was an avid reader who loved shopping, shoes and hand bags. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and was retired from Habersham Medical Center where she was a dietician for over 20 years. She also worked at Adams Rib in Clarkesville. She was the last member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gragg is preceded in death by the love her life, husband Marvin B. Gragg, daughter Brenda Talbot Staton, granddaughter Shelby Lynn Gragg, brothers Charles, Jim, Raymond, Stock, Marion, Frank and Roger Hiles and sisters Roberta Emrich, Doris Carter and Mary Linegar.
Survivors include children Vicki Talbot of Clarkesville, Doug and Michelle Talbot of Montgomery, Texas, Jeff Talbot of Savannah, Michael and Lana Gragg of Demorest and Missy and Chris Gerrin of Clarkesville, 13 grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren and special niece Annette Buckler, as well as many extended family members and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 8, 2024 at Hillside Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Mike Franklin, officiating. Interment followed the service at Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Park.
