Charles “Carl” Joseph Crombach, age 77 of Clarkesville, passed away October 7, 2024.
Born in Rochester, New York on October 11, 1946, Carl was the son of the late Joseph and Beatrice Goldsby Crombach. He was an independent sales executive responsible for advertising space in magazines such as Mother Earth, Historic Traveler and Vogue. After moving to northeast Georgia, Carl was a real estate agent for Shield Realty for 19 years. Carl enjoyed cooking, fishing, reading and beautifying his property. He also loved his beloved dogs. In addition to his parents, Carl is preceded in death by sister Catherine M. Crawford.
Survivors include his wife Susan Dowdy Crombach of Clarkesville, daughters Karen Smith (Todd) of Oswego, New York and Anna Hope (Tim) of Amherst, Massachusetts, stepson Chris Hudson of Atlanta, grandchildren Allison Smith, Megan Smith, Sylvie Hope, Charlotte Hope and Evelyn Hope, as well as nieces Kelly Rogala (Michael) of Rochester, New York and Avery Lumsden of Clayton and nephew Jesse Lumsden of Sautee.
No public services will be held at this time.
