Christy (Jenkins) Black

Christy J Black, born on February 25, 1942, in Oakmont, Pennsylvania, passed away on July 14, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and service to others.

Christy was the beloved daughter of the late Paul Burnett Jenkins and Margaret Stockdale Jenkins. She was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her brother, Paul Jenkins Jr., and his sons, P.J., Morgan, and Gavin, and her cousin Margie Havens.

Christy treasured her family. She is survived by her four children: Lindsay Margaret Moore. Christy Elizabeth “Beth” Guffey her husband, Jon Guffey, and their son, Ethan; Adam Gregory Black and his wife, Julie, and their children, Carly and Tommy; Christopher Matthew Black and his wife, Tammy, and children, Charlotte, Katie, and Matthew.  Christy also had the joy of becoming a great-grandmother to Mary Banks, a blessing that brought her immense happiness.

She also cherished her bonus grandchildren, Charles Brawley, Jennifer Smuin, and Kimberly Cline, along with her bonus great-grandchildren, Abigail Brawley and Caroline Smuin.

Throughout her life, Christy embraced new opportunities with enthusiasm and determination. She enjoyed a successful career in hospitality and marketing, including serving as the Director of Sales and Marketing responsible for opening the Cobb Galleria Convention Center in Atlanta, Georgia, a role that reflected her leadership, vision, and remarkable ability to connect with people.

Later in life, Christy fulfilled a lifelong dream by opening Mindful Expressions in Clayton, Georgia, a place that expressed her passion for healing, spirituality, and helping others. As a Reiki Master, she shared her knowledge with countless students, mentoring and inspiring many people on their own paths toward wellness, balance, and personal growth.

Christy will be remembered for her generous heart, adventurous spirit, entrepreneurial drive, and unwavering belief in the goodness and potential of others. She had a gift for making people feel welcomed, understood, and valued. Whether through her professional accomplishments, her teachings, or simply her presence, she touched the lives of many and leaves behind a legacy that will continue through her family, friends, and the many lives she influenced.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
