Funeral services for Clara Densmore Ivester, age 94 of Clarkesville, will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at Turnerville Church with Pastor Bob Lawson, officiating. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 from 5-7 PM.
Mrs. Ivester passed away Sunday, November 9, 2025.
Born in Clarkesville on October 15, 1931, Mrs. Ivester was the daughter of the late Samuel Glen Densmore and the late Lethia Dover Densmore. She was retired from Piedmont Automotive and had also worked at Outerwear and Cornelia Garment. Mrs. Ivester was a member of Turnerville Church for over 74 years where she was also the Sunday School Secretary for 25 years. She was a master seamstress and enjoyed making clothes, dolls and many other things for her family. Mrs. Ivester also enjoyed canning and gardening and sharing her bounty with her family and neighbors. Mrs. Ivester was well founded in her faith and was fiercely passionate about her family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ivester is preceded in death by her husband Walter Lee Ivester and siblings Iolar Ivester, Samuel Glen Densmore, Jr., William Densmore, Mary Adams, Lou Helen Turpin and Omie Standridge.
Survivors include sons and daughters in law Jerry and Kathie Ivester of Hartwell and Steve and Brenda Ivester of Clarkesville, grandchildren Clint Ivester (Rhonda), Kelli Mayes (John), Britney Huff (Matthew), Cole Ivester (Jami) and Cassidy Ivester, eighteen great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials can be made to Turnerville Church, 2829 Old Historic 441, Turnerville, GA 30580.
