Cy "Mudcat" David Grant

Cy David "Mudcat" Grant, 77, passed away on June 27, 2025, in Gilbert, South Carolina.

Born on June 30, 1947, in Clarkesville GA, a proud graduate of North Habersham HS & University of South Carolina. A devoted Gamecocks fan throughout his life.

Cy served his country honorably as an Army Captain '68-72. Following his military service, he pursued a career as an entrepreneur & later worked at Gilbert HS.

He was a longtime member of RHBC & found joy in college football, reading, golf, & mowing his lawn. Above all else, Cy cherished time spent with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Nell C. Grant; brother Joseph (Jean); daughters Wendy G. Cooper (Billy) & Susan Kay G. Baker (Blue); 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grands with 2 more on the way.

Cy was preceded in death by parents Joseph "Cy" A & Ethylene D Grant, as well as his brother Jeffery T. "Jeff" Grant.

Cy leaves behind a legacy of love & laughter that will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him.

A celebration of life will be held in Columbia, South Carolina on Saturday, July 19, 2025.
