Delores (Skelton) Carroll

Delores Skelton Carroll, age 82 of Marietta, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2026.

Born in Clarkesville, Georgia on January 23, 1944, Mrs. Skelton was the daughter of the late Leslie Skelton and Oma Lee Church Skelton. In addition to being a housewife, Mrs. Skelton was an incredibly doting grandmother who adored her granddaughter Taylor and great grandson Grayson James. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband James M. Carroll, son James C. “Chad” Carroll, brother Douglas Skelton and sister Janice Knight.

Survivors include her daughter Kimberly Carroll (Travis Lau) of Hiawassee, granddaughter Taylor Nicole Nelson (Caleb) of Jacksonville NC, great grandson Grayson James Nelson, a great grandchild on the way, brother in law John Knight of Demorest, nephews Marty Knight and Scott Knight, great nephew Jonathan Knight as well as numerous extended family members.

Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM, Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Hillside Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow the service in the Hillside Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, prior to the service, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
