Eddie Jo Truelove Sims Adams, age 92 of Clarkesville, passed away Friday, October 25, 2024.
Born in Murrayville on February 18, 1932, Mrs. Adams was the daughter of the late Edgar L. and Sara Elizabeth Fields Truelove. Mrs. Adams was a homemaker and a farmer having raised chickens, hogs and cattle. As a young girl she was a self taught driver and she learned to drive so that she could help her family with farming and chores. Affectionately called Mama Jo by her loved ones, she enjoyed gardening and canning. If you came to her house she was going to feed you. She also took ceramic classes and enjoyed making porcelain dolls. Mama Jo was a very caring and loving lady. She loved her church family and attending singing events. She attended Clarkesville Church of God.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Adams is preceded in death by husbands Earl Sims and Pete Adams, son Gregory Earl Sims, daughter Gennie Louise Sims, grandson Zachary Ansley, siblings Herman Truelove, Kenneth Truelove, Frances Hopper, Louise Lee and Peggy Hayes, and son in law Ray Williams.
Survivors include son Shane Adams (Hope) of Clarkesville, daughters Elizabeth Williams of Clarkesville, Pennie Ansley (Chris) of Clarkesville, and Tracy Davenport of Clarkesville, brothers Bill Truelove (Linda) of North Hall and Johnny Truelove, grandchildren Clayton Williams, Menissa Worley (Dexter, Jr,), Jonathan Adams and Jacob Adams, great grandchildren Cole Williams (Corey), Aubree Williams (Houston), Chelsey Worley Lewallen (Maddox), Austin Worley, and Madison Worley, great great grandchildren Neva, Heston, Raylynn, River and Remi, as well as numerous extended family members.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 29, 2024. at Hillside Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Connie Berry officiating. Interment will follow the service at Ebenezer Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, October 28, 2024, from 5-8 PM.
The family wants to thank all of the Amedysis Hospice staff for the wonderful care and love given to our family in our time of need and also a special thanks to Corey for all of her help.
