Elmer Lester Mercer

Elmer Lester Mercer, age 91 of Clarkesville, passed away Monday, April 6, 2026.

Born in Donaldsonville Georgia on July 4, 1934, Mr. Mercer was the son of the late Lester Hill Mercer and the late Levester Louise Justice Mercer. Mr. Mercer was a United States Army Veteran having served in the Korean War. He was also a member and long serving deacon at Providence Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Mercer was preceded in death by his wife Eunice Ann Hutton Mercer, brothers Arthur Glenn Mercer and Clarence Eugene Mercer.

Survivors include his son and daughter in law Marc Alan Mercer (Andrea Laferriere), daughter and son in law LeAnn Mercer Rudeseal (Hoyt Anthony), brother James Wayne Mercer (Mary Stabler Mercer-deceased), sister Barbara Ann Mercer Leveritt (Charlie), grandchildren Mallory, John Marc, Emily, great grandchildren Jake, Blake, Beaux, Savannah, Addy, Hank, Hutton and Cora.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 30, 2026 at Providence Baptist Church, 12030 Hwy 197N, Clarkesville, GA 30523.
