Gladys Elizabeth (Stancil) Sprinkle

Gladys Elizabeth Stancil Sprinkle, age 85 of Clarkesville, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024.

Born in Clayton, Georgia on February 26, 1939, Mrs. Sprinkle was the daughter of the late William Jesse Stancil and Ellen Dills Stancil.  She was a homemaker and also kept some children in her home over the years.  Mrs. Sprinkle was a devoted wife and mother who loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her church family.  She was a lifelong member and servant at Joy Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sprinkle is preceded in death by husband Clinton Van Roy Sprinkle, brothers Robert, Frank and George Stancil and sisters Frances Hunnicutt and Gracie Dockins. 

Survivors include son and daughter in law Kevin and Christy Sprinkle of Demorest, daughter and son in law Pat and Fred Stewart of Mt. Airy, brother-in-law John Dockins of Wiley, sister-in-law Daisy Stancil of Hollywood, grandchildren Leslie Stewart, Adam Stewart (Kimberly), Austin Sprinkle (Marnie) and Carson Sprinkle, great grandchildren Gavin Martin, Kasidee Stewart and Ashlyn Stewart, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024 at 2 :00 PM at Joy Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Goss, officiating.  Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, August 8, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
