Herbert Mitchell "Mitch" Kinney Obituary

Herbert Mitchell Kinney (“Mitch”) went to be with the Lord on March 27, 2022.

Mitch was a retired Master Sergeant in the Army National Guard. Mitch was a salesman, retiring from Eastman Kodak Company having started his career at Fox Photo. He was preceded in death by his parents Herbert E. and Bertha M. Kinney.

He is survived by his devoted wife of over 60 years: Jeannie; daughter Melinda K. McIntyre and her husband Jim; son Brian and his wife Carol; grandchildren Sean, Steven and Kaitlyn; and sister Marion Wilmot.

Mitch was a lifetime Georgia native and was a member of Tom’s Creek Baptist Church. He had a lifelong passion for music, golfing, tennis, boating and fishing, and he was a member of the Masonic Lodge. In his youth Mitch played piano and sang in a quartet and was voted “Most Talented” by his senior class.

Mitch was beloved by everyone who ever met him: he was a wonderful husband and father and a good friend to many, having a kind heart and innate ability to make people laugh.

In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made to Smile Train charity for children.
