Herman Stewart Obituary

Herman Stewart, age 80 of Gastonia, North Carolina, formerly of Habersham County passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2020.

Born in Habersham County, Georgia on December 28, 1940, he was a son of the late Virgil Lee & Effie Mae Wheeler Stewart. Herman retired from the state of North Carolina and was an avid sports enthusiast. He especially enjoyed trips to the Charlotte Motor Speedway with his family to watch the NASCAR races.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Lee Roy Stewart, Doug Stewart, Billy Stewart, Bobby Stewart, Buddy Stewart, Herbert Stewart, & Johnny Stewart; sisters, Louise Patterson & Geneva Ivester.

Survivors include his daughter & son-in-law, Tina & Jesse Kennedy of Gastonia, NC; granddaughter, Megan; grandson, Drew; brothers & sisters-in-law, Ray & Willene Stewart of Mt. Airy, GA; Jimmy & Jeanell Stewart of Demorest, GA; sisters, Sue Terry of Cornelia, GA; Winnie Lou Tench of Clarkesville, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, & friends.
