Jimmy Cash

Mr. Jimmy Cash, age 84 of Rudeseal Road, Mt. Airy, GA, passed away Friday, July 14, 2023 at his residence with his loving family by his side.

A son of the late John and Mamie Whitehead Cash, he was born February 19, 1939 in Stephens County, GA having lived in Mt. Airy for the last 15 Years.  He was employed with the Norfolk Southern Railroad having retired with 25 years of service.  he was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, enjoyed being outside.  Jimmy was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  He was preceded in death by his parents: John and Mamie Whitehead Cash,  3 brothers, Joe, J.B. and Jack Cash and 3 sisters, Patsy Chatham, Jean McCollum and Jeanette Pritchett.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years Ann Floyd Cash of the home, daughter and son-in-law: Deborah and Michael Simmons of Mt. Airy, 4 granddaughters: Chasity Simmons, April Simmons, Amber Simmons, Tiffany Jill Fields and her husband Chad, all of Mt. Airy, 2 great-grandsons: Maverick Guy Fields and Cash Eli Fields, a brother:  Bobby Cash and his wife Linda of Toccoa, a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be 4 PM Sunday, July 16, 2023 at the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with his pastor the Reverend Chad Watson officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Sunday, July 16, 2023 from 2 until the funeral hour at 4 PM.

The following will serve as pallbearers, Michael Simmons. Chad Fields, Charles “Bud” Jarrett, Ray LeCroy Bo Barrett and Bo Sharretts.

Interment will be in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory entrusted to serve the family of Mr. Jimmy Cash.
