Joe Clarence Anderson

Funeral services for Joe Clarence Anderson, age 87, of Norcross will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Hillside Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow the service in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Anderson passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018.

Born in Anderson, South Carolina, on April 15, 1930, Mr. Anderson was the son of the late Clarence and Ruby Dickerson Anderson.  He was a United States Army veteran having served during the Korean War.  Mr. Anderson was an avid pool player and he earned 11 gold metals for the State of Georgia.  He worked as a stone mason with Anderson Stone Company.  Mr. Anderson was a member of First Baptist Church of Norcross and he was considered a loving, hardworking man, husband and father.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Anderson is preceded in death by son Larry Joe Anderson, brother John Anderson and sisters Mary Sue Hicks, Louellen Rich and Martha Mannikko.  

Survivors include wife Pauline Davis Anderson of Norcross, brothers James, Paul, Harold, Simon, David and Daniel Anderson, sisters Effie Lee Thompson and Judy Tanksley, and grandchildren Renee Anderson and Reginald (Theresa) Anderson.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association, 1101 Northchase Parkway, Suite 1, Marietta, GA 30067.
