Joyce Kathleen King Adams

Joyce Kathleen King Adams, age 81 of Clarkesville, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Born in Cornelia, Georgia on November 15, 1938, she was a daughter of the late George Ernest & Mamie Batson King. Joyce was a 1957 graduate of South Habersham High School & worked as a head teller with First National/Regions Bank with over 20 years before retirement. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling, watching Cardinals, & her animals. Joyce’s first love however was her family and spending precious time with them. She was a faithful member of Oakey Mountain Baptist Church for over 25 years where she served as former Church Treasurer and was a part of the Women’s Group better known as the Oakey’s Angels.

Joyce was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Will Adams; brothers, Lee King, Charles King, Rev. Neil King, & Marley King; sisters, Vickie Peek & Elizabeth Carr.

Survivors include her loving husband of 60 years, William F. “Bill” Adams of Clarkesville, GA; children & spouses, Michael & Susie Adams of Oakwood, GA; Kenny Adams; Dawn Adams McConnell & Cecil McConnell; Danny & Letty Adams all of Clarkesville, GA; grandchildren, Dustin Adams; Ansley Adams; Ryan Adams; Luke Adams; Andrew Thomas; Alyssa Adams; & Isabella Adams; great-grandchildren, Everly Adams & Clyde Tatum; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, a host of friends, & church family.

Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at Hillside Memorial Chapel with Rev. Brion Williams & Mr. Cliff Baird officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakey Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
