Lane Thomas Batson

Lane Thomas Batson, age 63 of Demorest, Georgia passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at the St. Francis Hospital - South Campus in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Born in Demorest, Georgia on February 16, 1958, he was the son of the late Charles Thomas & Imogene Irvin Batson. Lane was a 1975 graduate of Habersham Central High School & attended North Georgia Technical College. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy. Lane was a carpenter for many years and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his son & daughter-in-law, Michael Thomas & Michele Batson of Demorest, GA; daughter, Stephanie Lott; sister, Julie Batson Glenn of Watkinsville, GA; grandchildren, Caroline & Eric Jones, Madison & Jacob Goguen, & Trace Wood; great-granchildren, Natalie, Matthew, Cayden, Styles, & Kierstyn as well as other relatives & friends.

A memorial service celebrating Lane’s life will be held at 5:00 pm Monday, March 15, 2021 at Hillside Memorial Chapel in Clarkesville with Rev. Tony Goss officiating.

Military honors will be provided by the Grant Reeves Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 3:00 pm until the service hour.
