Lena May (Richard) Murphy

Lena May Richard Murphy, age 86, of Clarkesville passed away January 28, 2018 following a period of declining health.

Born on December 25, 1931, Mrs. Murphy was the daughter of the late William G. and Lena Ree Hartley Richard.  She was a retired LPN and a member of Stonepile Baptist Church.  Mrs. Murphy enjoyed sewing, knitting, and making porcelain dolls. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Murphy is preceded in death by husband Calvin W. Murphy, son Michael Murphy, and daughter Debi Murphy.

Survivors include granddaughter and primary caregiver Ashley Hudson (Chris) of Cleveland, son Brad Murphy of Clarkesville, sisters and brothers in law Dee and Alice Morton of Florida and Eunice and Therman Anderson of Georgia, local grandchildren Jackson, Camden, and Gannon Hudson, special niece Gina Morton, nephews Red Lance Morton, Leif Morton and Richard Brown, survivors also include son John Murphy, daughter Karen Hayes, as well as numerous other grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Stonepile Baptist Church with Rev. Connie Berry officiating.
