Lewis H. Martin

Lewis H. Martin, age 76 of Cornelia passed away June 5, 2023.

Born in Clarkesville, Georgia on March 29, 1947, Mr. Martin was the son of the late Howard and Hattie Chitwood Martin.  He was retired from Habersham County Road Department and also served with Baldwin Fire Department for over 30 years.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Martin is preceded in death by wife Tammy Martin, sisters Frances Knight, Marie Jones and Susie Bell Norton, brothers Robert Martin, Curtis Martin, Clifford Martin, and Charles Martin.

Survivors include daughters Kimberly Edwards of Cornelia and Tony (Kenny) Abernathy of Clarkesville, sons Shawn (Jessica) Martin of Cornelia and Adam (Heather) Martin of Clarkesville, best friend Joan (Curtis) Weaver, bonus children Justin (Amanda) Garrett and Jonathan (Jessica) Garrett, brother Jack Martin of Cornelia, ten grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. 

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center, especially his nurse Jamie Dills.

Plans for a service celebrating the life of Lewis Martin will be announced at a later date.
