Lyman Franklin Robertson, Sr., age 92 of Clarkesville, passed away February 23, 2025.
Born in Gaffney, South Carolina on November 8, 1932, Mr. Robertson was the son of the late William C. and Fanny Dorman Robertson. Mr. Robertson was a United States Army Veteran having served in the Korean War. He was also stationed in Germany and spent a large part of his military career in career counseling for his fellow soldiers. After retiring as a Sergeant Major, Mr. Robertson returned to serving his country as a civilian contractor who worked extensively on logistics for Operation Dessert Storm. Mr. Robertson was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Clarkesville.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Robertson is preceded in death by his wife of 71 years Ann Wilkie Robertson, brothers Floyd Robertson and W.C. Robertson, Jr. and sister Dorothy Robertson Goforth.
Survivors include son and daughter in law Len and Erika Robertson of The Netherlands, as well as grandchildren Anna Robertson, Benjamin Robertson (Stasia) and Thomas Robertson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Hillside Memorial Chapel with Rev. Matthew Butler, officiating. Interment will follow the service in Hillside Gardens
Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Thursday from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM.
