Marcus Jesse "Pete" Chastain

Marcus Jesse “Pete” Chastain, age 75 of Clarkesville, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 25, 2022.

Born in Mountain City, Georgia on September 30, 1946, he was a son of the late Marcus Andrew & Emma Francis Edmonds Chastain. Pete retired from the Habersham County School System as a custodian with over 15 years of dedicated service. In his spare time, he was an avid rabbit and coon hunter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sue Christine Herron Chastain and his son, Mark Chastain.

Survivors include his sons & daughter-in-law, Ricky & Cindy Chastain; Trenton Chastain all of Clarkesville, GA; brother, Bud Chastain of Eastanollee, GA; sisters & brothers-in-law, Annie Mae Switalski of St. Petersburg, FL; Pauline Talley of Cornelia, GA; Effene & Ronnie Dills of Clarkesville, GA; Thelma & Michael Shook of Cleveland, GA; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, & friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 27, 2022 at Hillside Memorial Chapel with Rev. Larry Brown & Rev. Chad Shook officiating. Interment will follow in the Harvest Christian Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour on Monday.
