Maria McQuaide Weldy

Maria McQuaide Weldy, age 67 of Nashville, Tennessee & formerly of Habersham County went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 22, 2024.

Born in Miami, Florida on August 12, 1956, she was a daughter of the late Donald Guy McQuaide & the late Marilyn Stubbs. Maria was a general manager for Long John Silvers in Cornelia before having to medically retire. In her spare time, she enjoyed painting beautiful pictures, crocheting, working puzzles, feeding animals, and fishing. Most of all, Maria loved her family tremendously.

Survivors include her son & daughter-in-law, Shawn & Laura Weldy of Clarkesville, GA; daughters, Tina Weldy Gailey, Angel Weldy Gaddis both of Nashville, TN; Moriah Weldy Woods (Gavin Mitchell) of Cookeville, TN; step-daughter, Laura Weldy Mott of Dallas, TX; sister, Jennifer Lee Goodman of Charlotte, NC; her “Aunt Honey,” grandchildren, Hayden Weldy, Tucker Weldy, Micha Swain, Destiney Weldy, Aleaha Siebold, Peyton Allen, Kailah Woods, Arabella Woods, Keegan Gaddis, Madisyne Gaddis, & Dylan Gaddis; great-grandchildren, Valencia Swain & Zyla Thompson; nieces, nephews, other relatives, & friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Monday, July 01, 2024 at Hillside Memorial Chapel in Clarkesville with Dr. Kevin Mangum & Mr. Keith Canup officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. & from 4:00 p.m. until the service hour on Monday, July 01, 2024.
