Marie Sullens Blitchington

Funeral services for Marie Sullens Blitchington, age 73 of Demorest, will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at Hillside Memorial Chapel.  Interment will follow the service in Hillside Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Blitchington passed away Saturday, February 1, 2020 following a period of declining health.

Born in Gainesville, Georgia on March 5, 1946, Mrs. Blitchington was the daughter of the late Clarence and Nancy Isabelle Hatcher Sullens.  Mrs. Blitchington was a prayer warrior and a devout Christian. She enjoyed working in her yard and cooking special meals for her family on their birthdays and other special occasions, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.  Mrs. Blitchington was a retired inspector with Avery Labels. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Blitchington is preceded in death by her loving husband Gene Blitchington and siblings Horace Sullens, Nancy Barlow, Dewitt Sullens and Martha Hudson.

Survivors include daughters and sons in law Kim and Mark Nations of Mt. Airy and Michelle and Jay Fling of Madison, step children Kenny Blitchington of Newnan, Bill Blitchington of Charleston, SC and Sara Blitchington of Sharpsburg, grandchildren Melissa Kloss, Brittany Oliver, Krisha Nations, Jamie Nations and Lillie Fling, great grandchildren Jacob Tyler, Jeremie Tyler and Finlee Kloss, brothers and sisters in law Delmos and Wilma Sullens and Clarence and Betty Sullens, brother Jim Sullens, as well as some wonderful and treasured nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Hillside Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 from 6-8 PM and prior to the funeral service on Wednesday from 12-2 PM.
