Mary Lou Watkins Davidson

Mary Lou Watkins Davidson, age 96 of Demorest, Georgia took her heavenly flight home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.

Born in Lula, Georgia on March 10, 1927, she was a daughter of the late William Jay, Sr. & Lula Roper Watkins. Mary Lou was a graduate of Baldwin High School, Class of 1945. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and doting grandmother. In her spare time, Mary Lou enjoyed making pottery, vacationing with her sisters-in-law, and listening to music, especially Conway Twitty. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Olin Reed Davidson; son-in-law, Larry Banks; granddaughter, Kimberly Davidson; great-granddaughter, Eunice Lockoff; brother, Jay Watkins, Jr.; and sister, Virginia Watkins.

Survivors include her children & their spouses, Harold Davidson of Griffin, GA; Hildred & Philip Craig of Seneca, SC; Kenneth & Denise Davidson of Tuscaloosa, AL; Donald & Sheila Davidson of Demorest, GA; Elaine Davidson Banks of Clarkesville, GA; sister, Linda Watkins Kimbrell of Demorest, GA; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, & friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Hillside Memorial Chapel with Rev. Austin Kelley & Rev. Philip McQueen officiating. Interment will follow in the Enon Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until the service hour on Saturday, October 28, 2023.
