Mary Rosalind Carter, age 85 of Greensboro, Georgia passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024 at Greene Point Health & Rehabilitation in Greensboro.
Born in Birmingham, Alabama on July 08, 1938, she was preceded in death by her loving parents, Samuel Russell Carter, Sr. & Annie Rosalind Jones Carter.
Survivors include her brother, Samuel Russell Carter, Jr. of Birmingham, AL; nephew, Dr. Samuel Russell Carter, III & his wife, Kelli of Joplin, MO; and a niece, Anne Elliott Carter Young of Houston, TX.
Rosalind grew up in Birmingham, Alabama and graduated from Shades Valley High School where she was a member of Alpha Delta Psi Sorority. She was an accomplished pianist who studied at the Birmingham Conservatory of Music before entering the University of Alabama, where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and graduated with a B.S. Degree in Elementary Education.
Rosalind was a long-time Atlanta resident and a former teacher with Atlanta City School System. She later enjoyed being an au pair for several Atlanta families before moving to Helen, Georgia, where she loved the beauty of the North Georgia mountains. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by her many friends.
