Funeral services for Mary Ruby Wooten McClain, age 96, of Clarkesville will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 13, 2019, at Hillside Memorial Chapel. Rev. Connie Berry and Chaplain Greg Bailey will officiate with interment to follow the service in Stonepile Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. McClain passed away Friday, April 12, 2019.
Born in Habersham County on June 24, 1922, Mrs. McClain was the daughter of the late Walter and Lydia Smith Wooten. Mrs. McClain retired in 1997 from Scovill Fasteners where she was a production inspector. She was a member of Stonepile Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McClain is preceded in death by husband James “Harold” McClain, son Jerel McClain, brothers Raymond Wooten and Ted Wooten, sisters Jean Bennett, Ruth Davis, Christine Wooten and Ovilene Wooten.
Survivors include sons James McClain of Dahlonega and Jerry McClain of Elberton, daughters Janice Rogers of Hiawassee, Joan Key of Clarkesville and June Waters of Clarkesville, sister Hazel Poole of Clarkesville, 10 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Saturday from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM
