Middleton Sams Clarke

Middleton Sams Clarke, of Clarkesville, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at age 66 due to complications from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.

Born in Miami, Florida on May 15, 1956, he was the son of the late Hagood, Jr. & Jane Davidson Clarke. Middleton worked as a lifeguard in his early years and in the construction industry most of his adult life.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Joel Hurt Clarke, Mike Crawford, and a cousin, Harrison (Chip) Clarke.

Survivors include his sisters, Virginia Clarke Green (Tom) of Fort Valley, GA; Ann Clarke of Tunnel Hill, GA; brother Hagood Clarke, III (Gee Gee) of Pompano, FL; niece, Ann Clarke Prevette (Josh) of Savannah, GA; cousins, Jimmy Clarke of Tucson, AZ; Elizabeth Chandler (Philip) and Maggie Kelsey of Brevard, NC; and Philip Crawford (Morgan) of Raleigh, NC.

A memorial service to honor his life will be held at a later date.
