Naomi Wooten Huggins, age 102 of the Batesville Community, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2025.
Born in Habersham County on August 18, 1922, Mrs. Huggins was the daughter of the late Horace Dewitt Wooten and Julia Free Wooten and she was the eldest child in her family. Mrs. Huggins was a dedicated homemaker and never worked a public job. She was involved with her boys in school when they were younger. Mrs. Huggins was also instrumental in the first Fire Department in Batesville and was a volunteer for Sharing & Caring, as well as the election poll in Batesville. Mrs. Huggins was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter 480 as well as Providence Baptist Church.
She is survived by son Horace “Hoss” Huggins of Batesville, son and daughter in law Stephen and Sue Huggins of Marietta, nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Huggins is preceded in death by husband Wade Huggins, son John Huggins, as well two sisters and one brother.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM, Friday, July 25th at Providence Baptist Church with interment to follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, July 24th from 5-8 PM.
