Odis Harley Barron, age 86 of the Batesville Community, Clarkesville, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 27, 2023.
Born in Clarkesville, Georgia on February 13, 1937, he was a son of the late Wavery & Lexie Kastner Barron. Odis was a graduate of North Habersham High School. He worked with Habersham Mills Corporation with over 32 years of dedicated service before retirement in 1999. In his spare time, Odis enjoyed cattle farming, bush hogging, and coon hunting. Most of all, he loved his family tremendously. He was a life-long member of the Providence Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Barron; son-in-law, Randy Cole; brothers, Dillard Barron & Payton Barron; as well as sisters, Eulene Tatum & Florence “Susie” Elrod.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Sandra Wood Barron; daughters & son-in-law, Tanya Cole, Toni & Jeff Allen; all of the Batesville Community, Clarkesville, GA; grandchildren, Auston & Janna Allen of Cleveland, GA; Megan & Kyle Withrow of Clarkesville, GA; great-grandchildren, Payton Allen & Maggie Allen of Cleveland, GA; Hunter Withrow & Easton Withrow of Clarkesville, GA; sisters, Lucille Simerly of SC; Joan Kinsey of Cleveland, GA; sister-in-law, Marie Adair Roper of the Batesville Community, Clarkesville, GA; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, & friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 01, 2023 at the Providence Baptist Church with Dr. Don Drawdy & Mr. Auston Allen officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour on Wednesday, March 01, 2023.
