Olene Vining Watson Obituary

Olene Vining Watson, age 78 of Clarkesville and formerly of Nashville, Georgia, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2025 at her residence.

Born in Adel, Georgia on June 29, 1947, Mrs. Watson was the daughter of the late Thomas Marion Vining and the late Martha Mizell McClellan.  Mrs. Watson was retired from Harvey Supermarkets.  She was the past president of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Berrien County and she was incredibly generous with her time and talents. Mrs. Watson was a good cook who enjoyed canning and working in her yard.  Her greatest joy was her family and she enjoyed spending time with her many friends.  Mrs. Watson was of the Christian Faith.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Watson is preceded in death by son David Browning and brothers T.M. Vining, Donald Vining, Joe Willie and Larry Vining.  

Survivors include daughter and son in law Angela B. and Wyatt Lastinger of Clarkesville, grandchildren Alexandra Cruthirds (Jeremy) of Sterritt, AL, Ethan Lastinger (Rhiannon) of Fort Drum, NY, Charles Browning (Kathryn) of Nashville, Kyle Browning (Kaitlyn) of Macon, and Lillian Browning of Nashville, great grandchildren Ansley Browning, Kara Browning, and Eleanor Lastinger, sister in law Wanda Vining, as well as close friends Gail Milligan and Bob Nix, David and Elaine Akins and Harmon Coarsey.

Graveside services will be held at Westview Cemetery, Nashville, Georgia, on Monday, October 6, 2025 at 2:00 PM with Rev. David Akins, officiating.
