Richard Anthony Weldon

Richard Anthony Weldon, age 71 of the Batesville Community, Clarkesville, Georgia passed away on Sunday, March 07, 2021.

Born in Birmingham, Alabama on February 26, 1950, he was a son of the late Frank & Cammie Eberhardt Weldon. Richard served his country proudly in the United States Army in Germany during the Vietnam War. He was the owner of Home & Business Improvement, Inc. where he served as a General Contractor with over 35 years of dedicated service. In his spare time, Richard enjoyed farming, loved gardening, landscaping, and bee keeping. He also enjoyed woodworking, trout fishing, hunting, & boating on Lake Burton. Richard was a very talented artist and loved to paint pictures. He was a member of Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Malcolm “Mac” Weldon, Sr. & a nephew, Malcolm “Mac” Weldon, Jr.

Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Sue Sullivan Weldon of the Batesville Community, Clarkesville, GA; son & daughter-in-law, Patrick Anthony & Miranda Weldon of Trussville, AL; daughter & son-in-law, Alison Weldon LaGree & Bret LaGree of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Taylor Fleeman, Maggie Weldon, & Mac LaGree; sisters, Marian Hill of Atlanta, GA. & Betty Tanzer of Longwood, FL; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, & friends.

Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2021 at the Milner Baptist Church Cemetery, 107 Pecan Drive, Milner, GA. 30257 with Pastor Cindy McDonald officiating.
