William Thomas “Bill” Barrs, Jr, age 89 of Lincolnton, Georgia passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024.

Born in Douglas, Georgia on March 17, 1934, he was a son of the late William Thomas, Sr. & Alif Raper Barrs. Bill served his country proudly in the United States Army National Guard and was a self-employed mechanic for numerous years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Grace Etwinda Gordon Barrs; sons, Wallace Barrs & Danny Barrs; brothers & sister-in-law, Benny & Helen Barrs, Warren “Bud” Barrs, James “Jim” Barrs, Robert “Bobby” Barrs; sister & brother-in-law, Ruby & Gene Bosurgi.

Survivors include his children, Margaret & Hershel Collins; David & Lillian Barrs; Amanda & Keith Hanke; daughter-in-law, Renee Barrs; sister & brother-in-law, Faye & Jack Atkins; sisters-in-law, Faith Barrs, Theadus Barrs, & Ruth Barrs; 21 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, & great-great grandchildren.
