Willis Thomas Evans

Willis Thomas Evans, age 85 of Mt. Airy, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2025.

Born in Mt. Airy on January 24, 1940, Mr. Evans was the son of the late Mack and Odie Fields Evans.  Affectionately known by many as “Ikie” or “Bill”, Mr. Evans attended school until the age of 15. He was retired from Clarkesville Mills with over 40 years of loyal service and was of the Christian faith. In addition to his parents, Mr. Evans is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Alpha Jane Allen Evans, as well as 14 siblings.   

Survivors include his sons and daughters in law, Steve and Lisa Evans and Tim and Donna Evans, grandchildren Becky Caudell (Steven), T.J. Evans (Kristen), April Standridge (Chris), Kyle Evans (Kayla) and Jacob Evans, great grandchildren Kelsie Hanley, Ariel McHan (Tyler), Cooper Smith, Branson Standridge, Macy Smith, Kylee Evans, Colton Smith, MaKenzie Evans, Dawson Evans, Kaci Evans and Kade Evans as well as great-great grandson Daniel McHan.

A private graveside service will be held at Hillside Gardens Cemetery.
