Wilma Ellene Burrell Mullinax

Wilma Ellene Burrell Mullinax, age 88 of Mount Airy, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 19, 2023.

Born in Mount Airy, Georgia on August 18, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Jesse Johnathan & Frances Maybell Loudermilk Burrell. Wilma married Ernest Wesley Mullinax on October 11, 1952 and together they built a marriage that would span over 67 years until he passed away in August of 2019. She worked in the textile industry and retired from Mount Vernon Mills with over 32 years of dedicated service. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, canning, and sewing. Wilma was a member of Hazel Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ernest Wesley Mullinax; brothers, James Clinton “Bill” Burrell, J. Lloyd Burrell, & Garnett Burrell; sisters, Senna Starr, Minnie Stephens Shore, Stella Mae Norton, & Monteree Norton.

Survivors include her son, Dennis Wesley Mullinax of Mount Airy, GA; daughter & son-in-law, Jill Miranda & Dale Wood of Demorest, GA; grandchildren, Kimberly & Cody Watts of Clarkesville, GA; Haley & Joe Lumpkin of Demorest, GA; great-grandchildren,  MaKenna & Grayson; sister, Irene Poole of Chamblee, GA; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, & friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Hillside Memorial Chapel in Clarkesville with Rev. Billy Burrell officiating. Interment will follow in the Hazel Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, April 27, 2023 from 12:00 noon until the service hour.
