For Von's family--I was a classmate of Von's in the Swain High class of 1960 and he remained exactly the same pleasant, thoughtful individual through life he was as a teenager. It was always a joy to see him at class reunions, most especially our most recent one, and for years I enjoyed periodic e-mail exchanges with him. We shared similar outlooks on many things and it was abundantly manifest that Von's loved his family, his country, and his Lord. Hopefully each of you will be able to find some surcease from sorrow in the realization that you had a wonderful man, a true "salt of the earth" individual, as your husband, father, son, and loved one.

Allean and family,I am so heartbroken of the loss of Von,I have very fond memories of him from all my years of having him as a patient with Dr. Greene. Von was one of the kindest,gentlest man I have never known. He definitely had a servants heart and I'm sure he has received his reward when entering the gates of Heaven. I will have the family in my prayers. I feel fortunate to have been able to know such a wonderful,sweet man.

Von's death is definitely a loss for our neighborhood. He was a gentle soul with a good sense of humor. He will be greatly missed. Prayers for comfort and strength for Allean and the family especially during this time of sorrow.
